This man is hard
guy yet he's gotten in touch with himself and has learned a special
sensitivity. He thinks about the meaning and value of life and he checks to be
sure he is on the path of integrity. Yet, as you see, he doesn't hold back
anything.
So,
even deeper than the words, there are three basic concepts that we all might
want to ponder: 1. 24/7 (What is time?) 2. Identity, identity,
identity (Who am I?) 3. It's all about family (Even when it
hurts).
After everybody
else has closed for the night, Katz's is the place to go. Did you hear Marc say
that over 50% of their revenue is from the graveyard shift. 24/7 is becoming
part of our new web-enabled psyche. You know it won't be long before sleep will
be re-examined and perhaps disintermediated!
Know where you came
from, who you are, and where you are going. It is all in your identity and
one-liners to sum up each is excellent marketing.
Business is all
about identity and continuity. Around that is built relations, and around and
throughout all those relations, the dynamics of business take place. Marc's
impossible job is to try to make it all harmonize even when he sings off key.
