About
letters from the past. Since 1994 we continue to pursue our huge goals,
mission and vision. Things have so changed since those early days. Throughout
the years the notes from our viewers and visitors (over a million per week on
television throughout the world and over 4M per year on the web) have helped to
keep us going. |

Asking
questions - first principles.
This box is about business basics, the starting points. Often your letters
to us and our letters to you are reflections about the meaning and value of
life and our work together. |

| ...A Business show on PBS stations? |
 |
 |
 |
Hello:
 ... you can
get a show on the air about starting and running a small business?!?
 Instead of Survivor or Big
Brother, this is a true reality show about people who run their own
business and discuss the real world problems and rewards of doing such!?! -

Hi Lindel Thank you for
writing! Can you imagine... we have been doing this show every week since 1994.
It is a simple model. A quiet hero in the community just tells their story. It
is always a good person doing good things based on starting the business of
their dreams. As they share insights and inspiration, they unwittingly become
MasterClass teachers.
 The show is
not a fad or a gimmick to be sure!
Have you registered on the site yet?
If (and that is a big "IF") we are successful,
the number of episodes per year will begin expanding greatly. There will be
literally hundreds of local episodes of the show. Many others will be involved
and every local community will decide whose story is told.
My first recommendation: Get involved within
your community! It kind of works like that now:
This
is our current selection criteria.
Essentially, we have worked through the local
Chambers of Commerce. We get a list of 200-300 recommended business and then
every small business advocate within that state "votes" so we have a top ten.
Then, I narrow it down with the station manager and other trusted advisors.
Hopefully, that is about to become much more embracing of everyone.
Those people who answer the questions the best
on the interactive part of the web site will be the first ones on the new
lists! Essentially everyone will have written their transcript and case study
guide before an inch of footage is captured in the cameras. We want to work on
the interstitials of each episode to make the show one of the most compelling
shows on television!
 Thanks for
your note. I hope to see you online! -Bruce |
