Christmas with Bruce and Hattie at Small Business School

	For me, Christmas is about the birth of Jesus. He is the one who taught us how to live, how to discover that God is within us, and how to be the best that we can be. Making a Christmas gift list causes us to reflect back on the year to remember that there were happy times and sad ones too. There have been deaths, births, marriages, and more. We all attempt to control everything but instead we are reminded of things larger than ourselves. Thank God for things larger than our own little world! What keeps us fresh is the promise within Jesus' birth that God loves us and has a plan for our lives, that good will win over evil, and that we will be given the strength we need to face each day with courage to make the world a better place.

	This year's Christmas message is more of an appeal - can we focus on the love that abides within light. How is it so? How do we talk about it? In these times, we all need to be doing more than the world's leadership seems able to do. We need to learn how to bring light into dark places so there might be more peace in the world. Perhaps we could answer the question, "What are the fundamentals that engender openness, toleration, and creativity, the antithesis of so many of the fundamentals within belief systems today?" Here is where I start. Is it a starting point? If so, could you help take it another step?
